THE FOUNDER’S STORY
Bronica Baker Deale:
A Journey of Resilience, Purpose, and Legacy
My name is Bronica Baker Deale, I am Brittany’s mother and the founder of Brittany's Reign. Inspired by the memory of my beloved daughter Brittany, I am dedicated to providing underserved children with opportunities to experience the joys of horseback riding. Through this work, I aim to foster confidence, resilience, and self-esteem, empowering a new generation to discover their potential in ways Brittany herself loved so dearly.
I grew up in Dayton, Ohio. I later moved to Dallas, Texas, then San Diego, California, eventually settling and making my home in Atlanta, Georgia. My professional journey spans over 15 years in the broadcast and television industry, where I developed skills in communication, leadership, and adaptability. These experiences not only shaped my career but also equipped me with the resilience and determination that have guided me through life’s most challenging moments.
The essence of success, I believe, lies in resilience and an unshakable belief in oneself. These values became even more vital in my life after the devastating loss of my daughter Brittany in 2006. At the young age of 22, Brittany’s life was tragically cut short during a home invasion orchestrated by a young man she once dated. This unimaginable loss was compounded by the physical toll of my grief, as I suffered a stroke and shortly afterward, required brain surgery. The path to recovery—both emotional and physical—was arduous, but I drew strength from my faith, my loved ones and my memories of Brittany, and the desire to honor her legacy.
Brittany’s passion for equestrianism was central to her life, and it became the inspiration for Brittany's Reign. I founded this organization to carry forward her love for horses and her belief in the transformative power of this sport. My vision is to create a space where underserved children can experience the healing, joy, and empowerment that horseback riding brings. I am committed to breaking barriers and making these experiences accessible to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity, fostering a sense of community, confidence, and resilience.
Outside of my work with Brittany's Reign, I find solace in swimming, traveling, and reading—activities that keep me grounded and connected to the world around me. My guiding principles are compassion, empathy, honesty, and integrity, values that I strive to embody in both my personal life and my leadership of this organization.
My goal is not only to honor Brittany’s memory but to enhance the lives of children by introducing them to the joys of horseback riding, nurturing their potential, and creating a brighter future. With each step forward, I aim to ensure that Brittany’s vibrant spirit lives on, one hoofbeat at a time.
